Interesting Antique GPO Postal Balance by DeGrave, Short & Fanner, Modified:

This is an interesting antique postal balance made by DeGrave Short and Fanner & Co in the late Victorian or Edwardian years. It originally has block weights and at some point was modified to take a stack of round \"GPO\" weights. It is well marked on the letter pan with the maker\'s details and \"GPO\" under the crow\'s foot or arrow mark, and the set of GPO weights also has their maker, J & J Siddons on the two largest. This has obviously been a working postal balance at a Post Office and it is still working very accurately today - a nice piece of GPO history. The base measures 10 x 5.4 inches and the balance stands just over 10 inches tall.
