Inverted Ribbed Amberina Salt Shaker Optic Rib Cranberry Amber New England:
This sale is for a scarce late 19th century amberina salt shaker. I believe it is a New England piece, though this came from the estate of a large Mt. Washington collector. The shaker has an inverted rib pattern in the glass. The ribs twist slightly toward the base. When I first acquired this shaker, the lid was snug but after removing it for these pictures I was unable to get it back on but it will be included. As you can see, there are some old salt deposits on the inside of the shaker but they should clean up with a little work. The shaker has a slightly asymmetrical mouth. There is one chip on the base that looks much larger than it is because it sits on a bubble burst. There is another rough manufacturing spot on the base and a couple small scratches on the barrel but the shaker is otherwise in good condition. It measures 3 1/2" tall and 1 1/2" in diameter across the base.
