These are 100+ Year-Old Maps--NOT a Reproduction
Offered are FIVE maps showing Italy of 1908.
First is the General Map of Italy.
The other FOUR maps show the same region in considerably more detail:
Northwest Detail; Southwest Detail; Southeast Detail; Southeast Detail
There are inset maps of Naples, Turin, Rome (x2), Etna, and Palermo.
Maps measure about 13.5\" x 17\" and each is printed on a single sheet with a fold in the center. (sheet size is about 16\" x 19\")
I have a large scanner, but these maps are a little too big for it--about 3 inches along the bottom, and a little bit on the top and sides do not appear in the first scans below.
The second scan below shows a close-up to demonstrate detail and quality;
and the third scan shows the legend for the map (which is printed on the reverse). Legend text is repeated in English; French; Italian and Spanish. The map was printed in Germany by Justus Perthes, and the text on the FACE of the map is predominantly in German.
Condition: Very Good. Clean, un-marked, and un-foxed.
This is a beautifully printed map. Text is extremely sharp and color is well registered and attractive.
This is a Copperplate Engraved map from the 9th Edition of Stieler\'s Atlas of Modern Geography.
Wikepedia reports that the 9th edition of this atlas was published between 1901 and 1903; BUT nearly all of the maps are dated 1908!
