Antique Jean Pouyat Limoges Art Deco "Laurel Gold Filigree" Tea Service for 1 with Porcelain Tea Strainer EUC
This offering is for a sumptuous group of ornately decorated and gilded tea service dinnerware. Made at the turn of the century (1900) in the Limoges region of France by the Jean Pouyat Porcelain Atelier, this set includes a tea cup, saucer, bread & butter snack plate, and a porcelain tea strainer. Featuring the pattern "Laurel Gold Filigree" the pieces feature a black band of laurel leaves around the rim enhanced with multiple bands of 24K embossed gold leaf and further decorated with filigree scroll work in a floral lotus pattern. The pieces measure: Tea Cup (5" x 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 1/2"(base)); Saucer (5" x 3/4"); Snack Plate (7 1/4" x 3/4"); Tea Bag Strainer (4 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 2"). All pieces are in Mint pre-owned condition, with only minor wear from use/ storage.The green "JPL" porcelain mark and the Jean Pouyat wreath mark date these pieces between 1891 & 1932. The French Art Deco Style and design pattern place the time frame closer to 1900.
