Jacob Glassworks 1987 Round Paperweight Iridescent Waves Of White, Purple & Blue For Sale
You are getting this beautiful paperweight signed JACOB GLASSWORKS 1987. I’ve heard that they used ash from Mt. St. Helen’s 1980 eruption in the design but I can’t confirm that. There is little information out there about the studio that made this. Around the sides of the paperweight there are 3 white and bluish-purple wave-like sprays shooting up from the bottom. Inside there are lots of tiny air bubbles in a grid-like formation which sits above a mushroom or flower-like shape with the same white and bluish-purple colors. The surface is iridescent so it gives off a lovely rainbow of colors when held in the light.
The surface is smooth with no pitting, chips or cracks. There is a flower pressed stamp underneath where they cut off the glass which gives it a more finished appearance as opposed to leaving a rough cut spot. It measures 2 7/8” in diameter and stands almost 2” tall. It is a gorgeous paperweight that you just have to see in person. The pictures can’t show its entire beauty.
This would make an excellent addition to a paperweight collection.
