At sale we present this stunning and iconic mid century, Jefferson GOLDEN HOUR \"mystery clock\". From its inception in the early 1940\'s and initial production in 1949 they were continuously produced, virtually unchanged, for 42 years. Nearly 70 years later their popularity is stronger than ever. So nicknamed \"mystery clock\" due to the hands that seem to float in space with no apparent connection to a drive motor, this clock was made on January 27, 1959. The entire unit has been disassembled and cleaned and the glass has been reattached to the gear ring. As a result of servicing in our workshop (see last photo) as well as its durable design this clock keeps perfect time. The motor runs cool and silently. The original cord is in excellent shape with no splits. The 24k gold plated case is in remarkable condition for being 57 years old and the pin striping on the hands still glows in the dark!
