J.r. Losada Marine Chronometer, Rosewood Case Circa 1850 Numbered 4826 London :
Offered here is a J. R. Losada Marine Chronometer in a rosewood case. Unfortunately, someone removed the movement and replaced it with a battery operated clock. The silvered face of the clock is marked "J. R. Losada, 105 Regent Street, LONDON, 4826". This offering is for many of the original parts of the case and housing, without the original movement. I have photographed the case on all four sides. There are two beautiful rosewood and brass sections that remain to the case, the middle and bottom, both in good condition. The glass is intact on what must have been the middle section of a three part case. The key is missing but the original locking nut remains. The brass clock housing is beautifully made and closes tightly, it weighs close to four pounds. The glass looks to be original. The clock is marked with the number "4826" in several places. The case measures 7 7/8" x 7 7/8" x 7.25". The pictures show what you will get, but feel free to ask any questions. I am offering this item without reserve and a low starting price of $125.
