On offer is a fantastic vintage sterling silver jewelry box by the master Hopi silversmith, Jacob Poleviyouma Jr. Poleviyouma was from 2nd Mesa and a rising star in Hopi arts when he died in 1986. He only produced for about 10 years before his death. This was a custom made sterling silver jewelry box for a private client and friend of his. It is heavy gauge work with fine carving – a perfect nesting place for your most treasured jewelry pieces. It weighs 120 grams and measures 2.5 x 2 inches and is 1 3/8 inches high. The bottom of the piece and the lid are both stamped JP – he did not stamp with a feather as he did on later pieces.
