About the brand:

Founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre. The nameJaeger-LeCoultre only appeared in 1937. JLC is one of the few manufactures ofSwitzerland. This means that they conceived and constructed their own movementsfrom scratch, without using third party ebauches. They have an impressivehistory building incredible iconic watches like the Reverso, the Memovox, theAtmos, etc.

Year ofmanufacture: unknown but back in the forties or fifties. watch size:

The diameterof the round shaped case and is 31mm not including the crown. Full length is38mm. It is 16mm wide between the lugs.

Specifics ofthis model:

1 - small vintage men\'s wristwatch. A truepiece of history!

2- Jaeger-LeCoultre proprietary and extraordinary caliber 463.A. This was acaliber designed and built by JLC at their own premises, not built by a thirdparty.

3 - Classic watch with a clear militarytypology from a high end cult brand.

dial: Iwould say the original dial is in excellent condition, but judge for yourself -see the pictures

hands: the hands are in very good condition - see the pictures

case: round shaped chromium plated case with astainless steel snap case back. It looks in very good condition - see thepictures

Movement: very nice condition - see the pictures.

The crystal: is plastic / Plexiglas. It has no uglyscratches, no cracking and no glazing.

Thebrand new bracelet is made of genuine leather.

Service history:

In August of 2015the watch was serviced:

1 - the case waschromium re-plated.

2 - the crystal wasreplaced since the one that was with the watch was dull and yellow.

3 - The movementwas subject to a CLA job.

4 - Both the dialand hands received new tritium, old (yellowed) style

For those of you who mightnot know what a C.L.A. job means, it involves the disassembling of the watchmechanism and having it cleaned in a specific machine with special liquids toremove dry oil and dirt. Afterwards the movement is lubricated with the proper oilsand adjusted after being tested in a vibrograf machine.

In practical terms it means that you can use the watch every daywithout fear that the lack of lubrication wears the movement pieces.

Working condition:

1 - Working very well. Runs very strong.

2- Time setting is smooth

3 - winding is smooth.

To get you a clearer picture of how the watch will behave, I do thefollowing home testing: I manually wind the watch, even if the watch hasautomatic wind, and test it against a watch that I know is correct. For this Ipurpose I use a web page that provides the exact time. I check the deviationafter 12 and 24 hours. The results for thiswatch after 12 hours: +16s After 24 hours: +37 seconds

This home test is not a warranty of repeatability or accuracy. Actuallywearing the watch in the pulse will get you different results for sure.

Nomatter how good the test results may look, the watch is sold as is, without anysort of warranty.

Like your car and like all mechanical watches, it will need periodicalmaintenance in the future.

1 - Thewatch should not be used in the water! All diving watches, even recent, shouldbe sent for a qualified water sealing service each year prior to diving season.

2 - Any acrylic or metallic display thatmight appear in the pictures is not included in the sale!
