Victorian / early Edwardian sterling silver thimble by James Fenton formerly of 74 Great Hampton Street, Birmingham. Plain knurled top over a border chased with daisies. Hallmarked on the plain turn over rim: 11 (the size), J.F (for James Fenton) the Birmingham Assay Office anchor mark, the lion passant for sterling silver and the date letter lower case "b" for 1901. In excellent condition - in round with no holes, dents, damage or repairs. Height approx. 2.6 cm; internal base diameter 1.6 cm; weight 5.6 grams.
Comes with Dorking jeweller's blue cardboard box with white velvet liner. The jeweller's details are printed in gold on the lid: W.B. Cull, WATCHMAKER, JEWELLER & OPTICIAN, 84 HIGH ST., DORKING (Surrey).
