January 1948 New York Times Bound Newspapers - Killing Of Gandhi Sports Ads For Sale
January 16-31, 1948 New York Times Bound Newspaper Volume Bound volume of the N. Y. Times for Jan. 16-31, 1948. The volume measures approximately 17" x 23" x 2 1/2" and I would guess contains between 700-800 pages. The volume is tightly bound between very heavy , cloth covered cardboard. In paging through the volume, I found no missing pages or cut-outs. Although fragile, all newspapers are still flexible and perfectly readable.These newspapers contain of articles about the Killing of Mohandas K. Gandhi ; the Cold War and the actions on both sides ; Huston's Treasure of Sierra Madre with Humphrey Bogart ; Executive Order signed to end segregation in the U.S. Armed Forces ; Sports including Baseball, Hockey, Horse Racing, Boxing, Basketball with the Yankees and all of the stars of the day ; advertising for the recently introduced TV's, Magnetic (tape) Players, Cars and Planes ; the bad economy and inflation thatplaguedthe United States and Europe after the end of World War II. Great historic information as reported by one of the world's greatest newspapers - the New York Times. If it was newsworthy, the New York Times reported it.
