Description:This Kogo (= incense container) is made to be used at tea ceremony.
The illustrated design is a "wild goose".The title writtenin calligraphy on the box (photo #11) is "the first wild goose found in the sky".It implies "a winter is coming" in Japanese tea ceremony.
It was made of Zelkova tree, whose grain is so beautiful as you can see on the enclosed photos.
It was made by Shunsai Maehata 3rd (３代 前端春斎).He was born in 1964 in Yamanaka which is a mecca of Japanese lacquerware and close to Kanazawa and Wajima cities.
It is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or marks.
