Japanese Satsuma 6 sided bowl - Meiji period - Fantastic quality - C1865:

This is the 1st time this bowl has been seen on . It is top quality Japanese Satsuma ware made in the early Meiji period around 1860 - 65. The gold work is Mercurial Gilding which was abandoned later due to the health hazard caused to the painters. The design is unusual in that it appears to show \'winged angels\'. Hundreds of faces inside and out.
I will include the wooden stand in the sale.
There is absolutely no damage other than some normal wear on the rim. Fully signed on the base in a fancy cartouche.
This is the finest piece I have ever owned. It really is museum quality.
