RARE VINTAGE JAPANESE SILVER FAN MEDALLION FAUX WICKER JEWELRY BOX; SIGNED; 10 INCHES
This is an exceptionally large and fine Japanese silver medallion jewelry casket.
Classic rectangular design.
Adorned with a series of beautifully hand carved silver fan medallions, with Japanese garden scenes. In various shape and form.
The cover with three silver medallions. Two of the fans with royal chrysanthemum displays. The third with delicate prunus branch under a full moon. Barely discernible gold accents to the work.
Other silver medallion in grape and leaf. Another with Japanese pot suspended with flowers, others with bird added to the display.
The front with silver frame to keyhole, and silver rims to faux drawers. Well cast drawer knops, one with petal collar, original.
Retains the original plush green velvet fitted and removeable interior, as shown.
Japanese jewelry casket is 10 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 and 5 1/4 inches tall.
Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous siler patina to medallion and rims. The hand engraved fan medallion retain most all of their original rich detail. Interior in fine state. Few scuffs and surface loss to wicker, no apparent breaks. No key.
