Japanese Silver Wire Threaded Cloisonne Pots / Koro - Imperial Emperor ? Meiji For Sale
ITEM DESCRIPTION : A very fine pair of Japanesesilver wire threadedcloisonne koro's/lidded pots.The floral pot bears the Kiri No Mon - Japan's Empress symbol which is designed asthree attached paulownia leaves with three standing stems. Amid the Kiku No Mon -Emperors symbol of the 16 petal chrysantemum flower.
The flying geese pot has the Kiku No Mon chrysantemum flower at the base.
ITEM CONDITION : Flying geese pot has damage to the lid, and on the main body as shown, also some cracks. Other pot good condition, one crack as shown.
SIZE : 6.5 inches. 11 inch at widest circumference.
AGE : c1850 - 1880
ORIGIN : JAPAN
I am thinking these pots would have belonged to Emperor Meiji who died in 1912. Or possibly his father Emperor Komei who reigned from 1831 to 1867. I am not an expert and any information would be welcome.
