RARE c1910 JENKINS & JENKINS STERLING SILVER HAND DECORATED SUGAR BASKET; RAISED FLORAL ON SATIN; FIRM LISTED ONLY 7 YEARS; EXCELLENT CONDITION
We are pleased to offer this rare c1910 Jenkins and Jenkins hand decorated sterling sugar bowl.
The highly regarded though not often observed Baltimore firm founded in 1879 by A. Jacobi. Became Jacobi & Jenkins, then Jenkins and Jenkins from 1908 to 1915.
Classic raised circular form. Delicately raised sweeping vine scroll rim.
Adorned with brilliant all over hand decorated leaf and floral sprays. Raised in exceptional relief. Set against satin surface. Accentuates the floral work perfectly.
Domed base with conforming leaf and floral work. Finished with elegant ruffled gadrooned edge.
Period engraved script EB lower body.
The rare c1910 Jenkins and Jenkins sterling silver floral sugar basket is 5 1/4 inches tall and 4 across. Exceptionally thick heavy guage sterling weighs 5 3/4 (standard) ounces.
Hallmarked as shown.
In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. Stands perfectly firm on table. The leaf and floral sprays retain their original detail.
