Stunning antique cast iron OR bronze architectural plaque/religious icon, featuring a profile of a female saint in the Art Nouveau or Aesthetic Movement (see print on her gown) style. Joan d\' Arc? Very possibly so -- you can search yourself for Joan of Arc profile images and see the same resemblance we do -- she\'s on the younger side, and she certainly has her nose and profile, and her hair is typical of the way she is usually shown (when she isn\'t being depicted with her locks chopped off boyish style.)

This piece looks amazing displayed on a shelf or tabletop as is on an easel (let us know if you\'d like one included -- we\'re happy to toss one in, free of charge) or it can easily be framed for your gallery wall. Beautiful stand-alone wall piece as well, perfect for any antique-decorated interior space or architectural project.

Material Note: This piece was presented to us by a dealer as cast iron.Another dealer believes that it may be bronze because it isn\'t magnetic; there are no signs of rust; the surface is quite smooth; the color of the metal is bronze-like, a mottled brown and black; and there is no green oxidation on the piece. Plaque is just under .25\" thick, not counting the raised relief sections that add another .25\" at most

Condition:We are not experts on antique metalware so please inquire about anything you are unsure of. Our photos show the condition best and are the most important part of our description. Please enlarge all of them and examine them closely. This is a solid piece with some residue on the back that is easily removed, as far as we can tell. The only condition issue we are aware of is some light scratches here and there that might rub out under an expert\'s care. We are selling as found, having made no attempt to clean this piece.
