Joe Beeler Collector Indian Head Figure Sculpture Pewter Medallion, Eddie Basha:
"BACON RIND OSAGE" Here is a stunning Indian Head collector medallionsculpted of Highly PolishedPewter by famed late artist Joe Beeler (who started the Cowboy Artist group in a bar in Sedona.)The late Arizona grocer Eddie Basha commissioned his closeamigo Beeler to carve a different medallion every year for Christmas gifts to Basha's closest friends. My husband Donwas one of those fortunate people and we treasured the collection for many years. But we got old... u get the picture.(Don was also a friend of Joe Beeler.) This is one of themost stunningof all the medallions. The Pewter Indian medallion "Bacon Rind Osage" measures 3 1/4"wide by an eighth inch high and Beeler signed it on the lowerright with the official CA identity denoting Cowboy Artist. On the back it says "From Eddie Basha". It is said that Bacon Rind was the most photographed Native American Indian. He was the leader of the OsageTribal Indians of Oklahoma andmostly wore traditionalTribal clothes, usually an otter bandeau around his head.
