Description This is just one of over 500 weights that we have in stock. All our weights are new and have been bought direct from the artist unless otherwise stated. A very attractive weight with a complex cane in the centre of the flower. It has John's cane to the base of the stem.
This weight is pre-owned but is in excellent condition and has been repolished by John. It measures just undeer 3 inches/7 4mm in diameter height John's JHD cane and sticker are to the base. There's no standard size for paperweights, with each artist having different ideas. Additionally, Scottish weights tend to be slightly smaller than US ones. However we've noticed that some ers are very generous in their sizing, and this has proved to be confusing to the less experienced in particular. We therefore think that some form of standardisation would be helpful to our customers when comparing weights, and we've developed a scale for Scottish weights. This is loosely based on the diameter of Perthshire weights as shown on page 75 of the excellent book "The Complete Guide to Perthshire Paperweights", but updated to millimetres as well as inches and also giving an upper and lower limit.
