John Nachorny (1908-1989) Vintage Watercolor Painting Taxco Mexico Santa Prisca:
This vintage watercolor painting shows a street scene of old Taxco Mexico. It has a wonderful composition with the dome and towers of Santa Prisca church rising above the red tile roofs and daily activity of people. This painting was done by John Nachorny (1908-1989) and is signed Nacho and titled Taxco in the right hand lower corner. The painting measures 10 1/2" by 7 3/4" within the mat. With frame, it measures 17 1/8" by 14". The painting has been nicely framed with a wooden frame and covered with what feels to be glass. This painting shows the normal yellowing from aging and is in great vintage condition. John is a listed artist. He was born in Poland in 1908 and his family immigrated to Ohio in 1913. John often painted with oils as well as watercolor. He travelled widely and especially enjoyed painting street scenes.**(See my other listings on for another Taxco street scene watercolor painted by John.)**
