I got this kilt from a trunk that I bought at the estate sale of a well-known collector and antique dealer. The trunk had belonged to a silent screen and Broadway actor from Dayton, Ohio. This kilt was in the truck along with many other theatrical items, and was probably made and used in the 1920\'s and 30\'s. I had it professionally dry-cleaned, and the kilt and sash have no moth holes or mothball scent. It\'s in good condition and appears to have been made by a tailor or seamstress. The ribbons that hang from the back of the hat are old and frayed. The hat has a bead of leather trim around the bottom edge. The sporran has a leather flap at the top of the pouch, but the button hole in the flap is split, and the leather shows some wear on the back and the front. The kilt and sash are black watch plaid, all wool heavy weight fabric, and the waist is 31 - 34 based upon my son-in-law\'s estimate after trying it on, as shown in the pics. The kilt comes with the sash, the hat, the sporran, and the stocking covers. Based on the color difference I don\'t think the stocking covers went with the outfit, and they have a few holes in them, but I\'m including them. The metal on the hat says \"Royal Highlanders\" Black Watch, and it has their motto in Latin which translates to \" No one attacks me with impunity\". The sporran is awesome, particularly for it\'s age, and the sporran alone is probably worth $250. I have many more pics than the 12 attached here, so if your interested let me know and Ill send more. Please let me know if you have any questions.Revision (4/14/14): I have received several emails pointing out that the kilt is being worn backwards in the photos. My apologies. I\'m un-familiar with kilts and will try to post new pictures.Also, the country of manufacture is unknown. The listing continues to show in it as United Kingdom, which I cannot verify because the item has no tag or label. I have tried to revise the listing several times, to remove \"United Kingdom\", but have been unable to remove it.
