This item has originated from a house clearance in Accrington in the 1960s.

My client's father dealt in Antiques part time, and the item came from a Mr Bond of Accrington, who had travelled abroad extensively before The First World War, selling industrial machinery.

Each item with ref EJV in the title came from this collection, and has been folded and stored in a light safe wooden chest since at least 1960. The colours in the fabric pieces and coloured prints you see are as fresh as the day they were created, over a hundred years ago. The newspapers and B&W suppliments in these collections have naturally yellowed even though they have been stored away from direct light. When I opened the newspapers to photograph them, there are some definate contrasts to where they have been folded in.
