This sale is for a soapstone 8"Family of FourSculpture.It represents Father, Mother and two children. It was hand carved in Kenya by the local artists. It is made of Kisii Soapstone from western Kenya. Dimensions are aproximately 8" x 2". This is the natural color of the stone. The picture represents our stock. All items are similiar but are hand made and can vary slightly. It would make a great addition to your african art collection.

The Art of Kisii Stone
This piece of Kisii Stone Art is carved by the tribesmen of Kenya. The stone is initially shaped with a "panga" ax. Then knives and bladed tools are used to define the shape of the piece. Sandpaper is used to achieve the smooth finish. Further polishing and waxing is doneto create the shine.
