Here for sale is a face jug of a Ship Captain holding two fish looking mermaids.
He is dressed in his formal clothing and has a mermaid tucked tightly under each arm.
He has a black beard and curling mustache the color of the mermaids hair and nipples.
He has ahugeEdgefield smile.
His jacket is blue with tails in the back.
This whiskey jug is a bit over 11\" high and approx. 8\" wide.
This functional whiskey jug wasturned on the potter\'s wheel of high fire stoneware clay and then all the uniquefeatures were added.
Colored clay slip was painted on so that the exact details could be carve in.
This jug was fired in a gas reduction kiln to cone 10 bending.
It was glazed in a clear, food safe glaze.
The eyes,teeth, buttons and tie, and the artist logoskullstampare made ofporcelain.
This is a one-of-a-kind hand made artwork.
The artist signature and the numberare carved into the bottom.
Thisjug is made by me, Karen Labarga, a folk artist living in Plantation, Florida.
