We are very pleased to offer this very rare and important Chinese court fan dating to the 18th century. The fan is very large in size and has a bamboo central stick with the body appearing to be made of palm leaves or a similar natural material. The central stick is heavily accented with hand carved scenes which have been colored and are done with incredible detail and quality. Truly a rare and important early Chinese fan. We actually had this fan looked at by the head of a Chinese Department at one of the major international sale houses and was given an estimate of $15,000++. The fan measures 18.75 inches (47.6cm) tall and measures 13.25 inches (33.6cm) across at the widest point. Overall condition of the fan is excellent condition with the exception of only a few usual separations in the palm leaves. Do not miss this opportunity to acquire such a rare and desirable piece.
