GJPaw salesis very pleased to offer a 19th CenturyTibetan Monastery Seal. The seal is an amazing example of artistic mastery with fine repousse work done in the silver. The seal depicts the Ashtamangala, the eight auspicious signs of Buddhism, with elaborate scrolling vine work below the faces of beasts. The seal is made of a very thick layer of fine silver over an inner clay or iron core. The total weight of the piece is 14.109 ounces. The seal measures 4 3/8 inches tall and 1 9/16 inches wide(11.11 cm x 3.96 cm). The seal is inexcellent conditionand shows traces of ink from actual use.
