AWESOME COOL ITEM!

This is a very special fine large 48\" tall ornate carved and handpainted Ceremonial House Roof Finial* It is a Female Ancestor Seated on a Crocodile Spirit, from the Kanganoman VILLAGE of the IATMUL PEOPLE, Middle Sepik River, New Guinea! Entire carving in great condition except for a crack on the bottom side section due to natural drying and cracking of the wood in a different humidity. Very nice patina ! It is carved from a single piece of wood! Size is 48\" hi x 8\" wide x 8\" deep. The figure is seated on a carved crocodile . GREAT FOR DISPLAY! Priced to sell or make a reasonable offer.

AMAZING ORNATE and UNIQUE CARVED TRIBAL ITEM! A real dream item for any museum, private collector or decorator looking for unique fine art investments! Recently purchased in an estate sale of fine African and Oceanic Tribal Primitives. The sale had the most amazing rare and unusual museum quality items I have ever seen. It does not appear to have been cleaned or repaired. The desirable natural patina is INCREDIBLE! These wood carved items usually have a few minor scuffs/cracks to be expected. Research shows these items are made in very remote regions of New Guinea and other Oceanic Pacific Islands, and almost every part of the item is symbolic of the tribe, surroundings, or individual tribal member. Just imagine the actual history of this item. The entire carving is very ornate with hand painted areas. The photos do not do justice to its quality.

I try to describe items correctly and reduce shipping prices I try to keep shipping fees low, and do not charge handling fees regardless of how much time it takes me to pack and ship.
