Description A handsome large matching pair of English Antique Georgian Sheffield silver-plate on copper telescopic candlesticks dating from around 1830-1840.Excellent quality pair in lovely condition, fine large size with telescopic stems that measure approx 11 inches in height when fully extended. With weighted bases for stability and with green baize covering on the undersides. Complete with their original matching sconces. No engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms. They weigh 1530 grams, total weight.
Measurements Handsome large size, they measure approx9 inches (223mm) inches in height extending to 11 inches (278mm) and are 4.55 inches (116mm) in diameter across the bases.
Date Antique late Georgiansheffield silver plate on copper, datingfrom around 1830-40.
Condition Lovely condition and ready to be used. No repairs, some small age-relateddents andbruises onthe bases, but nothing bad. Tiny edge rim split on one base. The silver isdefinitely original (has not been re-plated) and is inexcellent condition,virtually nowearand no copper showing through. Thetelescopic stems still work properly and they extend and hold perfectly. The sconces are also definitely original and are a good tight fit.
