LARGE SIGNED GEORGE OHR POTTERY TWISTED BOWL Brown Purple ****

A fine large George Ohr signed (script) pottery twisted bowl in a brown glaze with a purple cast. Rolled rim and twisted middle. Measures 8” wide, 4” tall. There is one small ½” rough area on the bottom rim that may have been filled in (see photo) Otherwise no issues.

The story: Back in the mid to late 1970s we bought several pieces of the newly discovered George Ohr pottery and thoroughly enjoyed them over the past 30 years. More recently we learned that some of the original unglazed pieces were “enhanced” with modern glazes, believing they would be more appealing and saleable. This is one such piece. In other words, the bowl is Ohr, the glaze is not. Therefore, !
