Large Tin Friction/ Battery Dc-7c Northwest Airlines Plane Airplane Asahi Japan For Sale
I'm selling a large, very nice tin friction DC-7C Northwest Airlines airplane made by Asahitoy or ATC of Japan. The plane measures 15 inches or 38 centimeters long and has a wingspan of 19 12/ inches or 50 centimeters long. It is in complete, lightly played with condition. The airplane is primarily a friction vehicle, and both friction motors work well. All four propellers spin with the friction motors. There is also a battery operated function to the plane, it takes one D battery which is supposed to light the lights on the ends of the wing. The battery is not supposed to power the plane's wheels, only the lights. The lights do not work, I am not sure why, the battery case is nice and clean. I am not sure if there is something missing or if the plane needs a new light bulb or if the wiring needs to be fixed.. The main power to the the airplane, the friction power, works fine. The litho is in excellent condition. There is some scratching in the paint and there is a little wear and a few tiny dings on the top of the plane. The colors are great, bright and vivid; the plane is in excellent, lightly played with condition. The DC-7C was the third variation of the DC-7 plane, According to Wikipedia, the DC-7 was made from 1953 to 1958 and it was the last major piston powered engine made by Douglas. The 7C was an extended range airplane that added fuel and moved the engines farther out on the wings. The Asahi version of the DC-7C has a great, sleek, low to the ground look about it, It looks very modern and very fast. This tin version is not perfect but it displays very well and looks great. Questions are welcome and I will be happy to provide additional photos. Shipping will be 15.00 in the U.S.. Shipping in the Eastern half of the U.S. will be cheaper by about 5.00; there is a huge surcharge to ship to the West Coast by Priority Mail from my home in Ohio. I usually use UPS to ship larger packages to the West Coast. Overseas shipping will vary by country and method of shipping. I am happy to combine shipping. Paypal is preferred for payment and within 3 days of end of sale, please. Thanks!
