LARGE 1973 Vintage GRAPHIC ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONIST OIL PAINTING Mid Century Modern Signed
Extremely graphic, hard edge abstraction with bold color combinations and deep matte finish. Rich pigment is painted with highly stylized forms.
This work brings to mind an emphasized spontaneity or a type of automatic painting technique which the surrealists utilized in their earlier modernist works.
Image designs appear almost cut out of pure color. Pigment ranges from deep red crimson, deep black, phthalo and bright white.
- Painting on stretched linen. Pigment is very matte.- Signed and dated at upper left corner - Robert Dale 73. Artist is Robert Dale McKinney - he was a Woodmere Museum artist. Woodmere Art Museum cataloged at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY.- Excellent vintage condition. - Thin newer wood modernist frame with gilded edge.- Large Scale: Measures 45\" x 40.5\" in thin frame.
