The movement is a STATE OF THE ART!!!!
This clock is in a SUPERB condition regarding its age.
The case is fully made of SOLID Cherry wood!
The polished copper decorations are to die for...richly used on every part of
this museumpiece.
All these decorations have been disassembledto restore themin their original
state.
A beautiful balance is created using these decorations in the legs,
pineconeson the roof, clockface, side ornaments andthe 2 Pillars in front.
The movement has been serviced completely in May 2014 and
findsitself in aSTUNNING condition.
Theuse of High Quality materialslead to a well balanced, chique and above
allimpressive piece.
You will definately NOT find another clock like this!!!
Having a windable, 8 days,pendulum drivenmovement.
The movement is MARKED with thenumber \" 1114 \".
Most likely, this is a LENZKIRCH clock.
This opinion is based on the following things:
1)
The original key is still there.
Only Lenzkirch madeits key in this shape.
2)
The way the pendulum hangs at the crunch is very much Lenzkirch
orientated.
3)
Mainly Lenzkirch made rectangular clocks with a huge amount of
decorations.
In other words, the style matches a Lenzkirch.
4)
The 3 levers on the dial, to set the running speed, changing of Westminster
and Whittington chime and the silence / chimelever are exactly like
Lenzkirch
made them.
Not only the levers are identical to Lenzkirchs design, but the whole (!) dial
is too!
5)
The pendulum has a dot in the middle, at the rear side.
Only Lenzkirch used to do this.
In the front of the clock you find a door, with its ORIGINAL KEY, giving
accessto the dial.
The dial gives you the choise toselect multiple settings by 3 handles:
- Chime on 5 gongs (Westminster)
- Chime on 8 bells (Whittington)
- Running speed (middle handle)
- Chime or Silent function (left handle).
The Hands come in black metal, pointing out the time in Roman numbers,
onametal scale.
In between the Roman numbers, there are floral decorations.
The centre of the clockface comes in richly decorated brass.
The dial also has 60 partitions; one for each minute, making this a very
precisetime-piece.
Precise indeed, because this clock runs ON THE SECOND AND PERFECTLY
ON TIME!
Everything has been thought of when designing this clock.........
The backdoor is opened by a lock, still having the ORIGINAL KEY.
This clock comes withthe ORIGINAL LENZKIRCH key!
The history:
I believe this clock to have been built in the last decade of the 1800\'s or the
first one of the 1900\'s.
This is estimated and a personal opinion, based on experience.
I got thefollowing data from the seller.
The couple I boughtthis piece from have had the clock in their posession
for 6
years.
They bought it from a lady in Amsterdam after her husband passed away,
together with some extreme valueable antique paintings.
This lady lived in a huge house on the Prinsengracht and couldnt stay there
after her husband died.
Mainly an emotional decision.
This woman enherited the clock from her father.
Her father bought it from a foreigner (habitat unknown) , whenthe lady
herselfwas, as she mentioned,\"still young and still unmarried\", after WW2.
This \"foreigner\" is crucial!!!
The dial shows the name: \"J.B. Jackson\".
I did some research at this name and found out that this was a prosperious
and genarally well known writer, publisher,
instructor, and sketch artist in landscape design.
Born in France from AMERICAN PARENTS and travelled through a
large part of Europe among which Switzerland and Germany!
Germany is the origin of Lenzkirch.
The clock could definitely and impossibly be purchased by a \"normal
income person\".
Other J.B. Jacksons I found are too young and can impossibly be linked to
the clock.

Everything is original and it passed time without major cosmetic issues.
Overall this object is in a very good state but not new.
Used products have signs of use.
Mentionable are imperfections of the wood on the roof.
Personally I think this is no major defect and shows the age of this piece.
Please judge the quality by taking a good look at the photo\'s!
If you like these, please email me.
This clock runs smoothly and is in full function condition.
Note that the stand, visible on photo1, is not included with the clock.
It was used because the clock is to heavy to be hold during the time needed
tomake a photo.
Dimensions:
Weight: 22.964!!! grams
Height:30.0 Inch !!! ->76.1 cm!!!
Width:17.0 Inch ->43.1 cm
Depth:10.4 Inch ->26.3cm
Packing this Masterpiece requires that the movement has to be taken out
theclock and be packed seperately.
An instruction video is enclosed for assembling it, which is not a
complicatedthing!
Putting the movement back, once the clock is received, is rather simple and
notechnical skills are needed.
It is fixed by nuts inside the clock and a couple of screws in front, behind
thefrontdoor.
After purchasing this clock, I need approx 2 days to pack and prepare it for
