A fine early vintageand genuine historical newspapers published at Boston, by Benjamin Russell, 1805 while Thomas Jefferson was President of the United States. Each issue, a regular size, four page newspaper. Made of hand made paper and hand printed, the edges of the newspapersremain untrimmed and shows how they were made, hung up and dried prior to printing.

Excellent details concerning the expedition by Lewis and Clark., detailed news has beenbrought backby one of the men on the expedition and the news is here printed. They are being called "The party of Discovery". News of the Indians [ called savages ]., how they met with them and treated by them., many never seen a white man before this expedition.

Another issue has a great wood cut illustration showing a balloon, advertising for those who wish to rise up and behold great views., the ad is titled "Aerial Excursion", says to take a visit to the "upper Atmosphere". News of BLACK TROOPS in the British West-Indies, the island of Dominica. An organized corps of Black soldiers with news of their bravery in recent action from the French invasions. Stating they are just as good as any British regiment. Front page printing in an issue of the new Haiti Constitution, with much of it taken from the American Constitution.

News on the Tripolian situation, details of naval battles and prizes being taken, discussions on the Frigates of War and the number of guns these great ship had on board. News of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences., with John Adams as President of the Academy, John Quincy Adams serves as well, Henry Knox, Benjamin Lincoln and other great heroes of the American Revolution are members listed.

One issue devoted to the affairs in Europe and Napoleon, his declaration as being King of Italy, and other events of annexations of territory to France. Details of Lord Nelson and his great naval fleet.
