Description:Discontinued just last year (Around spring 2016) Library of the Presidents is far more than just a stodgy list of biographies of people you don\'t know. I was struck as I filed through most of these titles preparing them for photograph and sale. They are on the surface a cannon of very successful people. But far further, this is a surprising library of American History and interaction with world leaders. It is America as we influence the world and as the world influenced us. On a micro scale in the opposite direction, it is a slice of local life when these individuals were everyday persons growing up anywhere from log cabins to families of wealth. From the back woods, to rural America, or America\'s emerging metropolises. It is a taste of an era. This series is sometimes overlooked simply because people are not biography readers. But I was amazed at how much is here beyond just biography, as incredible as they are. If you have any inkling you want to collect this series, you need to get started now while prices are reasonable and most titles can be found. There are already hard titles well sought after. But because they were mass produced and recently discontinued (not to mention the current book glut) there are more titles on the market right now than you are normally going to see. This market will tighten up and some titles become near impossible. It is highly unlikely there will be a better time for you to buy than right now, regardless of who you buy them from.

Condition: Very little shelf wear and very little marr to gilt page ends. There is a blank book plate pasted over the top of a signed book plate. You can still personalize the new plate if you wish (I don\'t suggest personalizing any book). Editor\'s notes are included!
