This is the secondcar in a series of special edition cars produced for Allied Model Trains in Culver City California. The Heritage Village Box Car, #9796was produced in 1996 by Lionel and is licensed by Department 56. These cars are no longer available and are hard to find. The paint work on this car is incredible...the photo does not do it justice.This car comes equipped with metal wheels and axles, operating knuckle couplers on both endsand a brake wheel. The caroperates on both O-27 and "O" gauge track!
This car is brand new in a pristine and unblemished box, it was only removed to take the photo. For collectors of the 9700 series box cars this is a must have item!
