A vintage Lladro figurine with title "Dogs in Basket", retired in 1986.
We are pleased to present this large Lladro figurine for your consideration. Titled Dogs in Basket, the piece features four adorable Dogs or Puppies, posed together in a basket and covered in back by a striped blanket. It was originally issued in 1971 and was retired (taken out of production) in 1986. The sculptor was Juan Huerta. It is Lladro product number 01011121.
The figurine measures 8-3/4 inches high, 9-1/4 inches wide, and is 4-1/2 inches deep. It weighs 4 pounds 5 ounces. The underside has the Lladro mark in blue along with several impressed markings.
Some slight bottom wear is noted on the piece. We also see some "mold artifacts" on the underside - they are barely discernable rectangular areas with rounded edges that present as a slight color variation, and that feel slightly depressed compared to the surrounding area (see last picture). They are "as manufactured". There are no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs, and we rate the overall condition as very good to excellent (see pictures).
This is a charming Lladro figurine that will be sure to bring a smile to the face of the viewer. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
