Loetz Greta Chine Brides Bowl On Standing Lady Metal Base For Sale
This rare Loetz ruffled edge brides bowl, circa 1896, is held aloft by a beautiful silver plated lady dressed in a long flowing gown. The stand and bowl combined measure 12 inches tall and the bowl has a diameter of 8-1/2 inches. The bowl is held in place by its original silver plated screw. Most of the silverplate on the stand has worn away over the years and it is marked SHEFFIELD on its bottom (see last picture). The Loetz green bowl is blown in Loetz’s Chine decoration with has applied threading over its body. The stand is in excellent condition with no damage except the worn silver plating. The bridesbowl is in very good condition with only a couple of tiny insignificant nicks to the threading. They can only be detected by running your hand over the glass. This rare Loetz brides bowl is completely original and in excellent condition. It is beautiful example of the highly decorative glass of the Art Nouveau period.
