From theShrewsbury Museum (which is closing). This quilt had been in storage for 60 years. Size: 89\" x 89\". Made of cotton and silk with old printed fabric as backing, Light weight, summer/winterthin quilt. The storage and lack of exposure has saved this quilt. Some of the silk pieces have completely oxidized and others show damage. (showing the worst square that has splits through. I found it very interesting that each corresponding fabric is identical makingthis a very symmetrical quilt pattern. The backing pieces made of silk are the only damaged ones. approx 3600 pcs. Overall, a very beautiful and outstanding quality piece.Log cabin quilts are not rare, but ones of this quality are very rare and hard to find in this good of shape for the age. This piece should be exhibited on the wall! Final price reduction. This piece could be over 160 years old in my opinion.

Maybe 25 pieces with some damage could be replaced if you wanted to do so (these are silk)
