Longines Men's Solid 14k Gold Wwii Era Wristwatch ... Military ? For Sale
Men's 1940's solid 14K GOLD Longines !
Often referred to as a WWII Military officers watch,this watch measures29mm in diameter minus the crown and 36mm from lug to lug. The case is well hallmarked as being made of solid 14K gold, and is quite heavy for it's size... there's a lot of gold in this one! The case has not been abused or personalized and shows very little use... it evenretains the factory milling marks on the sides!
The sweep second handdial looks as though it has been refinished at some time, and studying the dial with a loupe there are sometiny marks under the finish though these aren't easily noticed while on the wrist. I had temporarily removed the crystal in one of the photographs to eliminate lighting glare, but the crystal is flawless and is now securely back in place.
Themanual wind Longines 17 jewel caliber 10L movement winds and setsmoothly and is in good running order, and the serial number of the movement is 6,971,991 which would date it to right around 1944.
