Fabulous vintage LOUIS VUITTON extra large suitcase. This piece may have been made by The French Luggage Co for LV, the other pieces for sale are definitely French Co LV, but this one the leather doesn\'t appear to have the coating I\'ve seen in French Co. pieces, this appears more like LV vachetta. This is a rare, hard to find piece which is absolutely authentic. This comes from the estate of one of the first female stockbrokers in the country - she was an amazing fashionista whose closet would make Carrie Bradshaw swoon. The French Luggage Company made pieces for Louis Vuitton to sell at high end stores like Saks Fifth Avenue & Neiman Marcus. This piece came from Saks. The French Co. pieces have coated or tanned leather which gives it a slightly darker, somewhat shiny look compared to the vachetta, untreated leather usually associated with LV. Please do an internet search on French Company for Louis Vuitton if you are unfamiliar with the history, it is quite interesting.

This is a super large suitcase, plenty of room to pack for a long journey. It has seen plenty of travel and has the scuffs and marks one would expect on a bag of this age. The zippers work smoothly and all of the buckles, straps and handles are strong and in good working order. The inside fabric is in beautiful condition with some small marks (see photos). The owner had wheels added to bottom since it is rather unwieldy otherwise, and also a D-ring added to side so a pull strap can be added on.

Overall excellent condition for a vintage piece of this age. It does show signs of wear which I have documented with extensive photography, mostly scuffs and marks on the leather. One of the brass \"feet\" on bottom is missing as seen in pics. This a fantastic bag sure to please any LV fan, and would make a wonderful addition to any LV collection.
