This is a lovely sterling silver snuff or pill box made by the Parisiansilversmith Charles Forgelot. The slightly domed lid is decorated withGuilloche friezes with laurel leaves and poppies garlands. The guillochedecoration continues to the lateral panels and bottom…High quality silver 950/1000with fine gold gilding ‘Vermeil’. It is marked to the lid and to the body rim ‘MinervaHead 1’ and‘C (portable forge) F’ for Charles Forgelot, Paris 1901- 1928. The silverwork is in verygood antique condition, small dent to the bottom rim, almost imperceptible butmentioned for completeness. The gilding is in great antique condition as pictured.It measures almost 1 ¾”in diameter by 13/16” high, weighs 19.6 grams.
