Lusitania Casualty Medal John Melia Mercantile Marine

Reluctantly selling due to ill health a great Mercantile Marine medal named to JOHN MELIA aged 50 years a greaser on the SS LUSITANIA WHO DIED ON 07/05/1915 when the ship was sunk by aGerman submarine together with some associated, ephemera, consisting of two large Lusitania commemorative medals used I believe as fund raising for the families of the casualties, a period post card the packet of issue for the medal, the condolence/sympathy slip with Winston Churchill signature as secretary of state for war and a framed IN MEMORIUM print of the Lusitania (re framed as the original frame fell apart). When the 100 anniversary of the Titanic took place there was a huge interest in Titanic items and with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Lusitaniacoming in 2015, Lusitania items will beeven more sought after, asthe sinking was a major factor in bringing the USA into the first world war. Will ship world wide as long as the buyer pays for adequate postal insurance. Postage within the UK £12.50 as the items will have to be boxed due to the size and fragility of the framed print. Overseas please enquire at end of sale
