CRYSTAL LALIQUE “MOULIN ROUGE” PERFUME BOTTLE

THIS MAGNIFICENT PERFUME BOTTLE IS AN ADAPTATION OF \"LA ROSE\" THAT WAS DESIGNED FOR MARCEL ROCHAS IN 1945.

This is a retired design and no longer produced.

The Moulin Rouge bottle or Flagon is one of nine different scent bottles that were designed for direct sales to the public.

\"A total of 35 scent bottles are known to have been designed and introduced under the direction of Marc Lalique (b.1900, d.1977) and his daughter Marie-Claude Lalique (b.1935). Nine were for direct sales to the public (of which the Moulin Rouge was one). The balance of the 35 were for commercial perfume companies (more than half for Nina Ricci)” *

The concave floral center motif of the Moulin Rouge is it’s outstanding feature. It has a frosted flower on a crystal clear base and the back of the bottle is, accordingly, the reverse side of the flower from the point of view of the stem. The floral design of the front is repeated on the top of the stopper, which indicates that it is correct for this bottle.

This rare treasure measures 6 3/4 inches or 17 cm. from top to bottom including the stopper.

It is in excellent/mint condition with no marks, chips or alterations and it has never had any perfume or liquid in it.

Note: Now this timeless flacon is only available on the secondary market, since it is a discontinued piece....IT HAS BECOME MORE AND MORE DIFFICULT TO FIND... What a wonderful addition to any vanity or perfume bottle collection. It would be hard to consider any serious collection complete without this exquisite perfume Flagon. It is in perfect condition. Sorry, one of our Florida hurricanes destroyed many of my Lalique boxes...this one included....so no box is available.
