Lalique Jewellrey & Glass. Art Nouveau Designs From Master Crafstman Colour:
“LALIQUE JEWELLERY AND GLASS”
By: Tony L. Mortimer
Rene Lalique (1860-1945) is best known for his supreme artistry in glass but, in the years around the turn of the century, he made some of the most breathtakingly beautiful jewelry ever seen. Designed and executed in the curvilinear art nouveau style, it has erotic, decadent overtones. In this new book, superb pictures in color and black and white illustrate every stage of Rene Lalique's glittering career. Here are the jewels, the glassware - both functional and decorative - and the interior and exhibition designs. Tony L. Mortimer, antiques expert and journalist, also gives invaluable information on the trademarks of Lalique glass and the whereabouts of important collections." A gorgeous coffee table book for the discriminating collector. Great for Anyone who loves art glass and Lalique.
The book is a hardcover, bound in black cloth with embossed title on spine & front cover. It also has a dustjacket, and is large format, measuring about 10 x 10 inches. The book was published by Octopus Press in London, England, in 1989, and it is 130 pages long. The book is used, but in very good condition – there is a former owner’s name written discreetly inside, but otherwise no writing inside, no stains or soiling, no missing or torn pages, and a tight spine & clean cover/dustjacket. The book is quite heavy, so the top buyer should add $17.90 for postage within North America. I have other, similar books up for sale now, so please check them out too! Multiple books always combined to save on postage, & full refund if you’re not happy. Thanks for looking!
