CAMs Quick Reference Card - LAST Three ! Great cross-reference for changing all those Cams on your machine.
Not found in the Singer User Manuals.
Taken from the Singer Cam Chart, in the
Teachers' Textbook of Machine Sewing,
reduced in scale, same info duplicated on both sides, and laminated in clear plastic,
use as a CAMs Quick Reference Card to keep next to your sewing machine. 3" x 8".
Indicates whether to use the Cam-stack, or which fashion disc to snap in.
Whichever side is facing up is for your particular machine.
If you feel this chart is incomplete, is it because you have other Cams NOT listed on it?
Please don’t be fooled by other sales which offer dozens of fashion disc cams.
Cams #1 thru #5 ==came standard== with the Singer 401A and 500A.
The remaining five Cams, Cams #11, #15, #19, #20, and #21, DO appear on this cross-reference chart.
The rest of the stitches, (which would use Cams 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18),
are already on the built-in Cam-stack.
Those stitches are NOT listed as a Cam number, rather, by what settings you select on the 401A 500A Stitch Selector Knobs.
The rest, Cams 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18, are which ==AREN'T== on the chart,
are just a duplication of the stitches already on the 401A / 500A Cam Stack.
Cam 22 and Cam 23. were developed post-Series 400 & 500 machines,for the later Touch and Sew machines.
Cam 22 works well on the Series 400 & 500 machines, in conjunction with the OverEdge Presser Foot,
to effect stretch stitching, similar to serger stitching.
Cam 23, the Basting Cam, will ONLY work with certain Series 600 machines.
"when I saw your cards, and thought that they were probably
the smartest thing ever put together for the 400 series" Jeff W.
A similar Cross-Reference for the Singer 403A or 503A is currently listed on .
