Large Antique Austro Hungarian Dragons - Griffins Horned God Buckle For Sale

Austro-Hungarian This is a Large, beautiful, Antique Austro Hungarian , 1 7/8
inch by 2 5/8 inch Buckle, typical of Hunguary in the mid to late 1800's,
Rennasaince Revival Period. The buckle is unmarked, brass with a silver "wash"
finish that has worn away just enough to make this piece spectacular. The Buckle is
Finely detailed with Large Griffins or Dragons at the sides, Masks of the Horned
God top and bottom and accented with what are probably faux turquoise and garnet
cabachones (In the era they used both real and faux gems and I cannot tell the
difference so I recommend you offer with the Faux in mind).
If I was going to keep this item I would Attach Jump Rings to the top and
wear it on a chain as a pendant. Those of you young enough might also like to
string it on a black velvet ribbon and wear it as a chocker necklace. I have
collected authentic Austro Hungarian Jewelry for many years and this is one of the
best made I have come acrossin a long time!
