A Stunning George III Silver Tankard, London, 1804.
Antique large and heavy Georgian silver tankard by Charles Chesterman II, London, 1804. The tankard body of slightly tapered form wih reeded banding, Slightly domed hinged lid with pierced thumbpiece and scroll handle.
The front features engraved initials and date. Both body and lid are fully Hallmarked English Silver (925 sterling), London, year 1804, maker's mark ofCharles Chesterman II.
Condition is excellent. Body is of a very heavy guage of silver. The lid sits slightly off-centre and the thumbpiece is likewise slightly askew. Otherwise this piece is in excellent condition with very little wear overall.
