Large Antique Japanese Meiji Era Tobe-yaki Pottery Blue Dragon Bowl Clouds 11":
Large 19th century Japanese Meiji era blue and white tobe-yaki style pottery bowl featuring blue dragons flying amongst swirling clouds or smoke. A smaller white dragon adorns the center medallion. Bowl exterior features a repeat free-form calligraphic scrollwork motif. The glaze on the bowl is slightly gritty, reminiscent of salt-glazed earthenware. The indigo and white glaze also has additional brown spots mixed in, most noticeably amongst the swirling clouds and the bodies of the dragons.

Condition: Great antique condition with natural imperfections and firing flaws to pottery and glaze, most noticeably popped surface bubbles or dark glaze spots. No cracks or chips along the rim. Light surface scratches to interior of bowl.
