Up for sale is a Large Old Tinaja, water jar from Guatemala. These old jars were used to fetch water from the village fountains and carried back home by women on their heads. These jars are very difficult to find. If you look at old photos you can see women with these water jars. This jar is about 13 inches high and about 14 inches wide. This water jar has been used a lot. Please look at photos. There is some nicks on the rim and one of the handles is missing..if you look at the photo the missing handle is worn down and looks like the water jar was used for a long time. There is also a hole that looks like it had at one time something on it. All these imperfections add to the interest of this piece. This piece came out of a large Latin American collection. This item will be sent insured and well packed.
