Large Rare Victorian 14K Gold Cameo of IMPORTANT HISTORICAL MAN A MUST SEE:
$1600.00

One of the finest cameos we have seen in a long time.....For sale is a late 1800\'s Gold Cameo with a carving of who we believe to be John Brown. The carving of the cameo is quite remarkable, the details and relief in his beard and hair is stunning. The carving we believe captures a stoic pose of the abolitionist John Brown in his later years, famous for his stand against slavery at Harper\'s Ferry. We have also had many people hypothesize that it could be Michelangelo or the famous sculpture Gaudens. As fine as the carving is the frame of this cameo is just as stunning. Please take a look at all the photos provided. The brooch measures 2 5/8 inches in height and 2 1/4 inches in width. Weighs 21.1 grams.SIGNED: There are no hallmarks or sign of a maker\'s mark. We have tested and confirmed that it is 14K gold.

CONDITION: The cameo and the frame are in excellent antique condition. There are no cracks or breaks to the cameo. The frame shows slight wear at the 9 o\'clock position on one of the flower petals. At some point a bail was added to the back. Please see all the photos as they too are apart of the description of condition.

A historical piece like this can easily fetch into the $4,000-$5,000+ range, our price is much less than that.

SHIPPING: Free Shipping via UPS 2 Day (NO SATURDAY DELIVERIES)

RETURNS: We only accept returns if we inaccurately described the piece. Please ask any questions prior to offerding. We will try to be prompt in our reply.
